A new batch of Asteroid City character posters for Focus Features’ upcoming has been released. The romantic dramedy hails from prolific writer-director Wes Anderson. The posters continue to highlight an all-star ensemble cast, which includes Scarlett Johansson, Tom Hanks, and Anderson’s long-time collaborator Jason Schwartzman.
The film had its world premiere at the 2023 Cannes Film Festival, followed by its debut in select theaters on June 16. Afterward, Asteroid City will have its wide release on June 23.
Who is Asteroid City about?
“It tells the story of a fictional American desert town circa 1955 and its Junior Stargazer convention, which brings together students and parents from across the country for scholarly competition, rest/recreation, comedy, drama, romance, and more,” reads the official synopsis.
Asteroid City is written and directed by Wes Anderson. The ensemble cast includes long-time Wes Anderson collaborators, Adrien Brody, Tilda Swinton, Bill Murray, Jason Schwartzman, Bryan Cranston, Jeffrey Wright, Liev Schreiber, Tony Revolori, Jeff Goldblum, and Jack Ryan.
The Asteroid City cast will also feature new A-list collaborators, including Tom Hanks, Margot Robbie, Scarlett Johansson, Hong Chau, Maya Hawke, Sophia Lillis, and more. The project is produced by Jeremy Dawson and Steven Rales.
