Focus Features has dropped three Asteroid City clips from Wes Anderson’s upcoming romantic comedy-drama, scheduled to premiere in select theaters on June 16. Wide release will follow on June 23.
The first two videos both give a preview of Scarlett Johansson’s character, a famous actress with a daughter. A third features a glimpse of Tom Hanks, Liev Schreiber and Hope Davis’ characters, as they discuss the military’s plans for them.

Who is Asteroid City about?
“It tells the story of a fictional American desert town circa 1955 and its Junior Stargazer convention, which brings together students and parents from across the country for scholarly competition, rest/recreation, comedy, drama, romance, and more,” reads the official synopsis.
Asteroid City is written and directed by Wes Anderson. The ensemble cast will include long-time Wes Anderson collaborators, Adrien Brody, Tilda Swinton, Bill Murray, Jason Schwartzman, Bryan Cranston, Jeffrey Wright, Liev Schreiber, Tony Revolori, Jeff Goldblum, and Jack Ryan.
The Asteroid City cast will also feature some new A-list collaborators, including Tom Hanks, Margot Robbie, Scarlett Johansson, Hong Chau, Maya Hawke, Sophia Lillis, and more. The project is being produced by Jeremy Dawson and Steven Rales.
