According to Deadline, HBO stars Jennifer Coolidge (The White Lotus) and Brian Cox (Succession) have signed on for leading roles in the upcoming crime comedy Riff Raff. In addition, Dustin Hoffman and Gabrielle Union have been enlisted for the cast as the project is scheduled to start filming in September.
For her performance as Tanya in The White Lotus, Coolidge took home both a Golden Globe and an Emmy Award — both for best supporting actress. Before gaining recognition for his role as Logan Roy in Succession, Cox is best known for his performances in high-profile movies including Adaptation, Troy, Zodiac, Red, Rise of the Planet of the Apes, and more.
Who’s Involved in Riff Raff?
Riff Raff is directed by Dito Montiel (A Guide to Recognizing Your Saints) from a screenplay written by John Pollono. The film is produced by Noah Rothman for Canopy Media Partners along with Marc Goldberg and Sarah Gabriel for Signature Films.
“The film centers on a former criminal’s ordinary life which is thrown upside down when his old family shows up for a long-awaited reckoning,” reads the logline.
In addition to starring, Cox and Coolidge will also be serving as executive producers along with Adam Paulsen, John Pollono, Chris Dennis, Christian Mercuri, Matthew Lesher, and Tiffany Kuzon.
