The James Cameron-directed Avatar: The Way of Water will debut on both HBO Max and Disney+ on Wednesday, June 7. The long-awaited sequel was nominated for several Academy Awards and was met with both critical and commercial success, paving the way for future planned entries in the blockbuster franchise.
Avatar: The Way of Water was directed and co-written by Cameron, who started the franchise with 2009’s Avatar. The cast saw the return of Sam Worthington, Zoe Saldaña, Joel David Moore, Stephen Lang, and Sigourney Weaver, among others.
