Superman: Legacy director James Gunn has once again confirmed through Twitter that casting on the upcoming superhero movie has still not begun.
Gunn responded to a tweet alleging that a casting call for Superman: Legacy has gone out for actors and actresses in their 20s of any ethnicity. The DC Studios Co-CEO replied that the rumor was untrue, that they haven’t started casting “other than making lists,” and that the casting isn’t limited to people in their twenties.
This comes after a similar reply from Gunn last Friday that confirmed that DC Studios has still not casted any actors for the movie, with the director bluntly stating, “We haven’t cast anyone!”
“Superman: Legacy tells the story of Superman’s journey to reconcile his Kryptonian heritage with his human upbringing as Clark Kent of Smallville, Kansas,” reads the movie’s synopsis. “He is the embodiment of truth, justice and the American way, guided by human kindness in a world that sees kindness as old-fashioned.”
The DC Universe’s first phase, called Chapter One: Gods and Monsters, will feature a multitude of different movies and television shows. A few of the announced projects include Superman: Legacy, a Batman and Robin-focused movie called The Brave and the Bold, a Supergirl movie titled Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow, a Swamp Thing film, and multiple TV shows.
