Ant-Man 3 Concept Art Shows a Wildly Different MODOK Design

Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania concept artist Aleksi Briclot took to Instagram to share a piece of concept art for one of the film’s antagonists, MODOK.

This look differs quite a bit from the final design used in the movie, opting for a fuller suit that seems to fully encapsulate MODOK’s head and body. The villain’s face seems to be in a tank of liquid rather than covered by a retractable mask, and some of his limbs are slightly more elongated.

In the image’s caption, Briclot explained that the design is the result of “quantum geysers” that aged, de-aged, and transformed Darren Cross, with the artist hinting that David Cronenberg’s The Fly may have influenced the art a bit. Briclot then said the work was done under the guidance and leadership of Marvel Studios Director of Visual Development Andy Park.
