Alan Ritchson & 6 More Join Henry Cavill-Led WWII Movie

According to Deadline, Alan Ritchson (Reacher), Henry Golding (The Gentlemen), Cary Elwes (The Princess Bride), Babs Olusanmokun (Dune), Til Schweiger (Inglourious Basterds), Hero Fiennes Tiffin (The Woman King), and Alex Pettyfer (The Butler) have been tapped to join the cast of Guy Ritchie’s upcoming World War II movie, titled The Ministry Of Ungentlemanly Warfare. The project will reunite Ritchie with Golding, Olusanmokun, and Elwes, whom he worked with on his previous action comedies.

They will be joining previously announced leads Henry Cavill and Eiza González. Production is expected to begin on February 13 in Turkey.

Based on historian Damien Lewis’ best-selling book, The Ministry Of Ungentlemanly Warfare will be directed by Guy Ritchie from a screenplay he co-wrote with Paul Tamasy, Eric Johnson, and Arash Amel. It is produced by Jerry Bruckheimer, with Black Bear International financing the project.

The Henry Cavill-led film is inspired by the true story of UK Prime Minister Winston Churchill and James Bond creator Ian Fleming’s secret WWII combat organization. “The clandestine squad’s unconventional and ‘ungentlemanly’ fighting techniques against the Nazis helped change the course of the war and gave birth to the modern Black Ops unit.”

The film will be produced by Chad Oman, Ivan Atkinson, and John Friedberg for Black Bear International. Scott Lastaiti, Olga Filipuk, Damien Lewis, Tamasy, and Johnson are also executive producing.
