Hot on the heels of a report earlier this week claiming both Anna Kendrick and J.K. Simmons are eyeing roles, TheWrap brings word that John Bernthal is now said to be targeting The Accountant, the Gavin O’Connor-helmed action thriller set up at Warner Bros.
Based on the script by Bill DuBuque, The Accountant centers on a mild-mannered accountant who moonlights as a lethal assassin.
Bernthal, well known for playing Shane on “The Walking Dead,” recently appeared in Fury, the World War II thriller also starring Brad Pitt, Shia LaBeouf, Michael Pena and Logan Lerman.
Kevin Scott Frakes, Lynette Howell, Raj Brinder Singh and Mark Williams are producing The Accountant with Drew Crevello and Jon Gonda overseeing.
