Universal Finds a Writer for Boom! Studios Adaptation Day Men

Last August, it was revealed that Universal Studios and Boom! had parterned up once again for a big screen adaptation, following the success of 2 Guns, and would bring the series Day Men to the big screen. Now, The Hollywood Reporter brings word that Universal has hired Will Simmons, whose script Murder City made the Black List back in 2012, to pen the adaptation.

Originally written by Matt Gagnon and Michael Alan Nelson with art by Brian Stelfreeze, Day Men is described as follows:

“For thousands of years, the world has been controlled by the ’50 Families,’ a secret network of vampire covens engaged in timeless contests of power. But when the sun rises, the vampires are forced to employ the services of a human who acts as their daytime fixer… Trained for centuries to be the mortal soldiers employers, the Day Men go forth at sunrise, alone into the world, to do the bidding of their sleeping benefactors.”

The Losers director Sylvain White is set to direct the project which has Boom! founder and CEO Ross Richie producing alongside Stephen Christy.
