This film adaptation comes after Sony Pictures recently adapted Kōtarō Isaka’s Maria Beetle novel into the Brad Pitt-led movie Bullet Train, which was considered as a box office success.
Seesaw Monster will be written and executive produced by Olivia Milch, who is reuniting with Hathaway after working together on the all-star heist film Ocean’s Eight. Further details about its plot and characters are still being kept under wraps, but the outlet’s sources note that the project is being developed as a two-hander action-comedy about two rivals.
The film will be produced by Hathaway for Somewhere Pictures and Pinault for Ventanorosa Productions. Producers are Weed Road Pictures’ Akiva Goldsman and Gregory Lessans, along with CTB Inc.’s Ryosuke Saegusa and Yuma Terada. It will be executive-produced by Jose Tamez, Siobhan Flynn, Adam Shulman, and Jonathan Rice.
