It was announced just yesterday that Christian Bale has decided not to play the lead role of Steve Jobs in director Danny Boyle’s upcoming, still-untitled biopic. Today, Deadline is reporting that Boyle may have already found a replacement: Frank and X-Men: Days of Future Past star Michael Fassbender. At this time, however, Fassbender officially signing on is far from a sure thing.
Based on Walter Isaacson’s biography and boasting an adapted screenplay by Aaron Sorkin, the new Jobs biopic recently revealed that Seth Rogen is in talks to play Steve Wozniak, although it is now uncertain what direction the film will take in Bale’s absence.
Previously, Ashton Kutcher played Steve Jobs in last year’s JOBS, a film that was a critical and commercial failure when it was finally released in August after its Sundance Film Festival debut.
