Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey, the slasher horror film based on the iconic character, will be getting a theatrical release before its online premiere early next year.

Fathom Events announced on Tuesday that it would be releasing the film for a special one-day event across hundreds of U.S. theaters on February 15, 2023. The film will also be going international, as Altitude announced that it has acquired the rights to the film in the United Kingdom, while Mexican and Canadian chain distributors Cinemex and Cineplex are also planning to show the film off in their respective countries, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The slasher film is written and directed by Rhys Frake-Waterfield, and is led by Craig David Dowsett as Pooh Bear, Chris Cordell as Piglet, and Nikolai Leo as Christopher Robin. Additional cast includes Natasha Tosini, Amber Doig-Thorne, Maria Taylor, Jase Rivers, Simon Ellis, May Kelly, Natasha Rose Mills, Richard D. Myers, and more.
Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey became notorious earlier this year for its outlandish usage of the iconic A.A. Milne and E.H. Shephard characters following their copyright expiration in 2021. The film centers around Christopher Robin going off to college, causing Winnie the Pooh and Piglet to become “feral and unhinged,” which leads to the characters going on a murderous rampage.
