One of John Boyega’s biggest roles came in the sequel trilogy of Star Wars, where the actor played Finn, a Stormtrooper-turned-hero. However, Boyega doesn’t ever see himself returning to the role in the future.

Speaking to SiriusXM’s John Fugelsang, Boyega said that he has no plans to return to the feature, noting that he thinks he is more suited to sticking to the versatile roles he has been handling since his time with the franchise.
“At this point I’m cool off it. I’m good off it,” Boyega said. “I think, to be fair, the allies that I found within Jewel Taylor, Jamie Foxx, Teyona Paris, Viola Davis, all these people that I’ve been working with. I think Finn is at a good confirmation point where you can just enjoy him in other things, the games, the animation. But I feel like ‘[Episode] VII’ to ‘[Episode] IX’ was good for me.”

Boyega’s feelings and history with the Star Wars franchise and his time in it are well noted, with the actor famously not liking how they handled his role in the film. At the time of the release of Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, Boyega openly criticized the franchise for seemingly putting the character of Finn on the backburner after introducing him as a more heroic figure.
