New weekly episodes of Dragon Ball Super are reportedly on the way, with one insider reporting that fresh episodes and movies are in the works.

Recently, Dragon Ball insider DBS Chronicles took to Twitter to report that they’ve heard that new weekly Dragon Ball episodes are being worked on, with the current plan being that the series will pick up following the “Universal Survival Saga,” an arc of Dragon Ball Super that sees Zeno’s Tournament of Power beginning, with multiple universes taking part in the fun.

The insider also noted that a new Dragon Ball movie following the upcoming Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero is currently in pre-production. According to them, Toei Animation is planning on releasing new films every 2-3 years, although it’s unclear exactly what the setting or plans for the films will be.
These reports coincide with various rumors that Dragon Ball Super was set to return in some way. With the recent film debuting to massive praise and box office success in Japan, it isn’t too surprising to see Toei readying to bring back the iconic franchise.
