Mount tweeted out the history of appearing in the film, revealing that Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige called him about reprising his short-lived stint as Black Bolt. Mount went on to say that it was “an honor & joy” to work with director Sam Raimi, and that he was incredibly grateful for the experience.
“Finally able to discuss this [without] providing too many spoilers,” Mount said in his tweet. “Getting the call from [Kevin Feige] was one of the most unexpected of my life. It was an honor and joy to finally work w/ Sam [Raimi] who reached out to engage me on how best to do this. Beyond grateful for the experience.”
In the film, Mount’s Bolt meets a brutal end, as he and the rest of the Illuminati are dispatched by Elizabeth Olson’s Wanda Maximoff after. These other Illuminati members are Captain Marvel (Lashana Lynch), Captain Carter (Haley Atwell), Professor X (Patrick Stewart), and perhaps the biggest cameo of the bunch, Reed Richards, also known as Mister Fantastic of the Fantastic Four, played by none other than John Krasinski.
