Michelle Pfeiffer’s history as an actress is filled with legendary performances. But few are more iconic than her turn as Catwoman in 1992’s Batman Returns.

Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter, Pfeiffer discussed the history of the character, as well as what she thinks about the new roles offered to her – as well as whether or not she would ever return to the role of Catwoman.
When it comes to her iconic role of Catwoman, Pfeiffer said that what she thinks worked so well about the character was the ability to pull off the “almost impossible combo” of things.
“She pulled off the almost impossible combo of sexy, ironic, tragic, dangerous, and just plain good,” Pfeiffer said, before also touching on whether or not she would ever return to the role, like Michael Keaton is doing in the upcoming film The Flash. “It would depend on the context but, yeah, I’d consider it.”
Elsewhere in the interview, Pfeiffer spoke about her career now and said that while the roles she gets offered now are much different than the ones she got in the past, they’re “more interesting” now.
“The kinds of roles you’re offered change as you get older and, in many ways, they’re a lot more interesting now,” said Pfeiffer. “I don’t look back,” she tells me, and then swiftly refocuses the discussion on what’s now, remarkably, available to her: “Like, I’m in Marvel world, who would have thought?”
Pfeiffer’s latest role came in 2020’s French Exit, with her next role set to be 2023’s Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, where she’ll reprise her role as Janet Van Dyne/Wasp.
