By including a lot of new angles on the same handful of scenes, the latest TV spot for Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness continues to hint that there will be a lot in the newest Marvel Cinematic Universe film that won’t be revealed until fans sit down in theaters. Still, there’s plenty to get excited about, from Wanda Maximoff warning Strange to not destroy the multiverse to Wang fighting the one-eyed monster Shuma-Gorath as they rampage through a town.

Marvel has every right to remain secretive, as the MCU seems to be building to some truly expansive events in the near future. Multiverse of Madness builds from the series-spanning Spider-Man: No Way Home, which brought back villains and heroes from across every cinematic interpretation of the web slinger. Promos for Doctor Strange‘s next film have hinted at similar cameos, including what appears to be Sir Patrick Stewart reprising his role as Professor X from Fox’s X-Men series and the evil incarnation of Stephen Strange that premiered in What If…?
Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness premieres on May 6, and not many will see the film before them. Reviewers won’t be able to post their thoughts until May 3, with social media from the world premiere set to go up the night before. It’s clear that Disney hopes to both build up anticipation as much as possible the week of release and keep the film’s secrets safe for as long as possible.
