“I’ve come to realize after making Doctor Strange that anything is possible, really anything in the Marvel universe, any team-ups,” said Raimi in an interview with Fandango. “I love Tobey. I love Kirsten Dunst. I think all things are possible. I don’t really have a story or a plan. I don’t know if Marvel would be interested in that right now. I don’t know what their thoughts are about that. I haven’t really pursued that. But it sounds beautiful. Even if it wasn’t a Spider-Man movie, I’d love to work with Tobey again, in a different role.”
Maguire recently appeared in a high-profile cameo in Marvel Studios’ Spider-Man: No Way Home, where he united with Tom Holland and Andrew Garfield’s Spider-Man character. The film was a smash hit, and also revitalized conversations on seeing Garfield and Maguire take up the role of Spider-Man again in future films. With Raimi having essentially kickstarted the comic book film craze with his original Spider-Man trilogy, fans would certainly love to see the duo team up once again.

In the meantime, Raimi will return to the world of Marvel with Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. Described as the first Marvel Cinematic Universe horror film, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness sees the return of Cumberbatch as he reprises his role as Dr. Stephen Strange. This time the Sorcerer Supreme will be joined by Scarlet Witch, portrayed by Elizabeth Olsen, who is coming off from the critical success of WandaVision. The sequel is expected to tie into the events from WandaVision, Loki and Spider-Man: No Way Home.
