Peter Chelsom, whose next film, Hector and the Search for Happiness hits theaters domestically September 19, has signed on to direct an upcoming science fiction family film from Relativity Media titled Out of This World.
Scripted by Allan Loeb (The Dilemma, Rock of Ages), Out of This World follows a boy named Gardner, who has been raised on Mars by a team of scientists. Returning to Earth as a teen, Gardner winds up traveling across the United States on a road trip with a young woman to find his biological father.
Ryan Kavanaugh and Richard B. Lewis will produce with Loeb executive producing alongside Sasha Harrari, Steven Pearl and Tucker Tooley.
