Rapper Jack Harlow is ready to make his Hollywood debut as Deadline is reporting that the artist is set to star in 20th Century’s upcoming reboot of White Men Can’t Jump.

According to the report, the move comes as a result of his first-ever screen audition, in which he reportedly won over the filmmakers and executives, particularly screenwriter Kenya Barris. While Harlow is best known for his music, he is no stranger to the world of basketball, having played in several of the NBA’s All-Star Weekend celebrity games.
The report notes that filmmakers are now looking to set his co-star due to the movie being fast-tracked, with Harlow likely to film his portions around Forecastle Festival, a music festival taking place from May 27-30 in Kentucky that Harlow is headlining.
The White Men Can’t Jump reboot is set to be directed by Calmatic, who came to fame when he directed the hit 2019 song “Old Town Road” for Lil Nas X. Kenya Barris and Doug Hall are writing the script for the film, with Barris and his Khalabo Ink Society banner producing. Blake Griffin, Ryan Kalil, and Noah Weinstein are also executive producing the film. The original film starred Wesley Snipes and Woody Harrelson and has become a classic comedy film since its release in 1992.
