Margaret Qualley & Paul Mescal to Lead Amazon’s The End of Getting Lost

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Emmy nominees Margaret Qualley (The Maid), and Paul Mescal (Normal People) have signed on to star in Amazon Studios’ mystery thriller film titled The End of Getting Lost, based on Robin Kirman’s upcoming novel. It will be produced by Dakota Johnson through her Tea Time Pictures banner, which marks her latest project with Mescal following Netflix’s acclaimed drama The Lost Daughter.

The End of Getting Lost will be directed by Deniz Gamazen and Deniz Gamze Ergüven from a screenplay written by Kirman. It will be produced by Ro Donnelley, with Qualley also set as an executive producer.

“Set in 1990s Europe, the story follows a young married couple, Gina (Qualley) and Duncan (Mescal), on what Duncan claims is their honeymoon but after Gina suffers a mysterious accident, the story begins to toggle between past and present — and husband and wife — to uncover a portrait of love’s power and dangers,” reads the synopsis. “As the two hop borders across Europe, their former lives threaten to catch up with them while the truth grows more elusive.”

Qualley is best known for her performances in HBO’s The Leftovers, and FX’s Foss/Verdon, with the latter earning her an Emmy nomination. Her most recent TV series, Netflix’s The Maid miniseries, earned her a Golden Globe nomination for Best Actress.

As for Mescal, he gained recognition for his breakthrough leading performance as Connell in the emotional drama series Normal People. He will next be seen in the psychological drama film God’s Creatures, and sci-fi thriller film Foe.
