The report notes that the film is based on an original idea conceived by Evans. It will focus on a 12-year-old boy who works on the MGM lot in 1952 and forms an imaginary friendship with the iconic actor Gene Kelly. Currently, no studio is attached to the film, nor has any other concrete information on the film been made available as of yet.

Alongside the brief synopsis, Deadline also reported that Evans will be producing the film alongside Mark Kassen. Rian Johnson and Ram Bergman’s T-Street Productions company is also attached as a producer, with three-time Academy Award nominee John Logan writing the script as well as producing.
