Marvel Studios’ Eternals Sets Disney+ Streaming Debut

Marvel Studios has finally announced the release date for the forthcoming Disney+ debut of Chloé Zhao’s star-studded MCU film Eternals. After over two months since its theatrical release, the film will officially be available for streaming on January 12, 2022, exclusively on Disney+.

Despite receiving mixed reviews from critics, Eternals was still able to become the second-largest worldwide opening weekend for a Hollywood film since the pandemic began, with a worldwide gross of over $380 million. Compared to previous films in The Infinity Saga, it was able to earn more than The Incredible Hulk, and Captain America: The First Avenger. However, it’s still currently the lowest-grossing film of Phase 4, ranking third behind Black Widow and Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings.

The film stars Richard Madden as the all-powerful Ikaris, Gemma Chan as humankind-loving Sersi, Kumail Nanjiani as cosmic-powered Kingo, Lauren Ridloff as the super-fast Makkari, Brian Tyree Henry as the intelligent inventor Phastos, Salma Hayek as the wise and spiritual leader Ajak, Lia McHugh as the eternally young, old-soul Sprite, Don Lee as the powerful Gilgamesh, Barry Keoghan as aloof loner Druig, Angelina Jolie as the fierce warrior Thena, and Kit Harington as Dane Whitman.
