A bidding war has begun for the distribution rights to an untitled racing film set to star Brad Pitt, according to a recent report from Deadline.

The film, which will be directed by Joseph Kosinski (Top Gun: Maverick), comes from a script written by Ehren Kruger, with legendary producer Jerry Bruckheimer also involved in the project according to the report.
No information on the story of the film has been given, but the report notes that Formula One driver Lewis Hamilton is also attached to the project in some capacity. Bidders for the project include Paramount, MGM, Sony, Universe, and Disney, with Netflix, Apple, and Amazon also competing to purchase the rights to the film for their individual streaming platforms.

Pitt hasn’t appeared in a film since 2020’s Ad Astra but will be busy in the coming years. He’s set to star in three films in 2022, including The Lost City, Bullet Train, and La La Land director Damien Chazelle’s Babylon.
