No Time to Die’s Ana de Armas is reteaming with her Knives Out co-star Chris Evans in Apple’s romance action-adventure feature Ghosted. She is replacing Scarlett Johansson in the project, who exited due to a scheduling conflict, according to Deadline.
De Armas will next be seen in the thriller Deep Water starring alongside Ben Affleck, releasing on January 14, 2022. She will also co-star once more with Evans in Netflix’s upcoming action film The Gray Man, the Russo Brothers’ adaptation of Mark Greaney’s 2009 novel also starring Ryan Gosling, which wrapped production in August. Her upcoming projects also include Andrew Dominik’s Blonde, and she is in talks to play the lead in the John Wick spin-off Ballerina.

Ghosted is written by Deadpool and Zombieland writing duo Paul Wernick and Rhett Reese, who successfully pitched the project to Skydance. Dexter Fletcher (Rocketman) will direct. Further details about its plot are still being kept under wraps, but it’s being likened to 1984’s classic romantic action-adventure Romancing the Stone.
The project will be produced by Evans, Reese, and Wernick along with Skydance’s David Ellison, Dana Goldberg, and Don Granger, as well as Jules Daly. De Armas will executive produce. This marks Evans’ latest collaboration with Apple after starring in last year’s Defending Jacob series.
