Lionsgate is currently in the process of developing an English-language remake of Riders of Justice, based on the Danish action-thriller dramedy film which debuted last year. The project will be produced by Stranger Things producer Shawn Levy through his 21 Laps banner.
“There are few films that balance the action, emotion, and dark humor that Anders did so successfully in Riders of Justice,” Lionsgate’s President of Production, Erin Westerman said in a statement to The Hollywood Reporter. “We’re confident that the movie will translate perfectly to English-language audiences as well.”

The original film was directed by Oscar nominee Anders Thomas Jensen from a screenplay he co-wrote with Nikolaj Arcel. It was led by acclaimed actor Mads Mikkelsen as a recently-deployed soldier, who is forced to return home to care for his teenage daughter after his wife is killed in a tragic train accident. He, along with a group of unlikely strangers, team up to avenge his wife’s death.
The Riders of Justice remake will once again be co-written by Jensen and Arcel. 21 Laps’ Dan Levin and Dan Cohen are producing, with original producers Sisse Graum, Sidsel Hybschmann, and Ander Kjaerhauge are set as executive producers. James Myers will be overseeing the project on behalf of Lionsgate.
