Prey, the upcoming movie in the Predator franchise, won’t be hunting down theaters in 2022. Instead, it will be coming exclusively to Hulu during summer 2022.
An all-new entry in the @Predator franchise, “Prey” is set in the world of the Comanche Nation 300 years ago. See the original film directed by Dan Trachtenberg (“The Boys,” “10 Cloverfield Lane”) only on @Hulu in 2022. pic.twitter.com/3A3KSiWoqn

“Set in the world of the Comanche Nation 300 years ago, the action-thriller follows Naru, the skilled warrior who fiercely protects her tribe against a highly evolved alien predator,” reads the official synopsis.

Trachtenberg is known for directing 10 Cloverfield Lane, certain episodes of The Boys, and the video game-centric episode of Black Mirror called Playtest. Prey is his first feature since the 2016 thriller. Prey stars Amber Midthunder and takes place in the Comanche Nation 300 years ago as they defend themselves against a Yautja predator. Since it takes place in the past, it will likely not bring in many elements from the other films.
