After the confirmation of Louis Partridge’s return as Tewkesbury during last Saturday’s TUDUM event, Variety brings word that Helena Bonham Carter (The Crown) and Susan Wokoma (Chewing Gum) have officially signed on to reprise their respective roles of Eudoria Holmes and Edith in Netflix’s forthcoming Enola Holmes sequel.
They will be joining previously announced leads Millie Bobby Brown, and Henry Cavill. As of now, it seems like The Hunger Games alum Sam Claflin is the only one from the first film’s main cast that won’t be returning. In addition, the streamer has also enlisted seven new cast members for Enola Holmes 2 including David Thewlis (Wonder Woman), Adeel Akhtar (Sweet Tooth), Sharon Duncan-Brewster (Dune), Abbie Hern (The Twilight Zone), Hannah Dodd (Fighting with My Family), Gabriel Tierney (Endeavour), and Serrana Su-Ling Bliss.

Enola Holmes 2 will once again be directed by Emmy and BAFTA-winner Harry Bradbeer (Fleabag, Killing Eve, Ramy) from a screenplay written by returning scribe BAFTA and Tony Award winner Jack Thorne (Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, The Aeronauts). It is a co-production between Legendary and Netflix.
Production on the coming-of-age mystery sequel is expected to begin later this year in London. It will be produced by Brown, and Paige Brown through their PCMA Productions banner, along with Legendary’s Mary Parent, Alex Garcia, and Ali Mendes. Executive producers are Bradbeer, Thorne, Michael Dreyer, and Legendary’s Joshua Grode.

Based on Nancy Springer’s Edgar Award-nominated book series The Enola Holmes Mysteries, the 2020 film was a major success for Netflix, with the streamer revealing that it had been watched by 76 million households during its first 28 days.
It centered around Sherlock and Mycroft Holmes’ rebellious teen sister Enola, a gifted super-sleuth in her own right who often outsmarts her brilliant siblings. After her mother’s sudden disappearance, she ran away from her older brothers to London in order to find her, where she’s caught in the middle of a conspiracy that could alter the course of political history.
