Harrison Ford is reportedly in the hospital today following an ankle injury sustained on the set of Star Wars: Episode VII. The official statement on the matter reads as follows:
“Harrison Ford sustained an ankle injury during filming today on the set of Star Wars: Episode VII. He was taken to a local hospital and is receiving care. Shooting will continue as planned while he recuperates.”
Hopefully it won’t be long before Ford is back in action and we here at ComingSoon.net wish him a speedy recovery! It wasn’t long ago that Robert Downey Jr. experienced a similar injury on the set of Iron Man 3 and, thankfully, was back to full health before too long.
Ford joins the returning Carrie Fisher, Mark Hamill, Anthony Daniels, Peter Mayhew and Kenny Baker for the new film alongside new additions John Boyega, Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver, Oscar Isaac, Andy Serkis, Domhnall Gleeson, Lupita Nyong’o, Gwendoline Christie and Max von Sydow.
Star Wars: Episode VII is being directed by J.J. Abrams from a script he co-wrote with Lawrence Kasdan. It will open in wide release on December 18, 2015.
