With only less than a month to go before its highly-anticipated theatrical release, the official runtime for Sony Pictures’ upcoming Venom: Let There Be Carnage has been revealed through the AMC and Fandango websites. The Tom Hardy-led Marvel sequel reportedly holds a total running time of 90 minutes or 1 hour and 30 minutes, making it one of the shortest superhero movies to date.
Due to Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings‘ opening weekend success, the Venom sequel was recently moved up to two weeks earlier and is now currently slated to arrive in theaters on October 1. Its new theatrical release date will pit the film against New Line Cinema’s The Many Saints of Newark, and MGM’s The Addams Family 2.

Venom: Let There Be Carnage sees the return of Tom Hardy as the lethal protector Venom, one of Marvel’s most complex characters. It is directed by Andy Serkis from a screenplay written by Kelly Marcel, based on a story by Hardy and Marcel.
The sequel will also feature the returning cast members are Michelle Williams, Reid Scott, and Peggy Lu. It will also introduce Woody Harrelson as the maniacal serial killer Cletus Kasady/Carnage, Naomie Harris as Frances Barrison/Shriek, and Stephen Graham as Detective Mulligan.

Based on the Marvel character created by Randy Schueller, Roger Stern, Tom DeFalco, Mike Zeck, and Ron Frenz, Venom: Let There Be Carnage is being produced by Hardy, Marcel, Avi Arad, Matt Tolmach, Amy Pascal, and Hutch Parker.
Since its debut in 2018, Venom was directed by Ruben Fleischer. It also starred Riz Ahmed as Carlton Drake/Riot. Despite receiving negative reviews from critics, the film had still earned a worldwide gross of over $800 million.
