Marvel’s Avengers Celebrates First Anniversary With Free Items

This week marks the one-year anniversary of Marvel’s Avengers, and to celebrate the milestone, Square Enix has announced that a ton of free bonuses are coming to the game for players.

In a blog post announcement on Wednesday, Square Enix revealed that from September 2 through September 9, players will be able to grab the Anniversary Bundle, which includes a new Outfit, name plate, and various consumables, including a two-hour Hero’s Catalyst and two-hour Fragment Extractor. The bundle will be available to pick up in the Marketplace for a week, according to the announcement.

Alongside the Anniversary Bundle, a handful of new Community Activities will be introduced into the game this week to help players hunt for Exotic items in the game. These new Community Activities include:

Cargo Runner Synthoid (9/2 – 9/16) – the Cargo Runner Synthoid will have a 50% spawn chance for the duration of the event. Get after it!
Priority Mission Rush (9/2 – 9/16) – the weekly Priority Mission, which grants a piece of Exotic Gear, will be able to be completed once a day instead of once per week, for the duration of the event.

The celebration of Marvel’s Avengers first anniversary comes just as the game also introduced some new outfits into the game, including the MCU costume for Black Panther as well as a handful of PlayStation Plus goodies. The last big update for the game, War for Wakanda, added Black Panther as a playable character along with a multi-hour story arc. The DLC has a handful of familiar villains that a wreaking havoc on T’Challa’s home country of Wakanda.
