The Life is Strange TV adaptation has been in some phase of development for a long time. And its newest recruit is not from the gaming world or the film world, but the music one. Singer Shawn Mendes has joined the project as executive producer, according to recent report.
TheHollywoodReporter published the news and also stated that Andrew Gertler, his partner at production company Permanent Content, will also join him. Mendes will overlook the music on the television series. He has won multiple awards for his music and has had hit songs like “If I Can’t Have You” and “Señorita.”

Music has always been a big part of Life is Strange. The first game, its sequel, and Before the Storm have all heavily featured indie rock as ways to set their tones. Life is Strange: True Colors went one step further by casting singer and songwriter mxmtoon to play as the singing voice for its main character, Alex Chen.
Anonymous Content, a production and management company behind shows like Maniac, True Detective, and Mr. Robot, has also joined the project in hopes to get it going again. Legendary first announced that it was developing the series in 2016 and, five years later, it still isn’t out, indicating quite a stall. However, there is still no release date for the project.
