The Marvel Cinematic Universe is back in movie theaters and fans are making sure to see it.
Disney announced today that Black Widow debuted to an estimated total of over $215 million globally this weekend with $80 million coming in domestically. An additional $78 million come from international sales, while $60 million came from Disney+ Premier Acess. Topping F9‘s $70 million domestic pull, Black Widow is now the largest domestic box office opening since the COVID-19 pandemic began and the largest domestic opening weekend since Star Wars Episode IX: The Rise of Skywalker in December 2019.

Disney also notes that Black Widow is the only film to surpass $100M in domestic consumer spend on opening weekend since the start of the pandemic, and that it’s the highest domestic opening weekend for a Marvel Cinematic Universe origin story after Black Panther and Captain Marvel.
