Cena was asked about the potential of seeing his character, Jakob Toretto, meet up with Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson’s Luke Hobbs, where he said that while he doesn’t have any control over that, it would be fun to see.
“Well, I am definitely not high in the decision-making ladder in that process, so I’m a dreamer just like you,” Cena said. “I would say that the things that I know are it was very captivating entertainment for over two years in WWE programming and usually what’s entertaining is entertaining. I’d like to see it. Well, like I said, I’m pretty low on the decision-making ladder in that.”

Johnson debuted in the franchise in the fifth film, Fast Five, and would reprise the role of Hobbs in two more sequels, as well as a spinoff film starring himself and Jason Statham as Shaw. However, behind-the-scenes tensions between Johnson and star Vin Diesel became public in 2016, and while the two have reportedly made amends and squashed any issues, it’s unknown if Johnson will be returning to the world of Fast & Furious anytime soon.
