In order to get ahead of impending set photo leaks, Shazam! director David F. Sandberg took to Twitter to share an official behind-the-scenes photo from the Atlanta set of Shazam! Fury of the Gods. The new photo provides us our first look at the Shazam Family led by Zachary Levi’s titular hero in their new upgraded suits, which bear a more define and mature look than their previous padded costumes from the first film.
In addition, Sandberg also went on to confirm that Grace Fulton, who portrays the role of Mary, has also been tapped to play her character’s adult superhero version, replacing Hawaii Five-O‘s Michelle Borth.

Shazam! Fury of the Gods will feature the return of Asher Angel and Zachary Levi as they reprise their respective roles as Billy Batson and Shazam!. Joining them are most of the first film’s main cast, including Jack Dylan Grazer and Adam Brody as Freddy; Faithe Herman and Meagan Good as Darla; Ian Chen and Ross Bulter as Eugene; Grace Fulton as Mary; Jovan Arman and D.J. Cotrona as Pedro; Marta Milans, and Cooper Andrews.
After defeating Sivana and the Seven Deadly Sins in the 2019 film, the sequel will see the Shazam family going up against much more dangerous threats, with the introductions of the daughters of Atlas, Hespera, and Kalypso, who are set to be portrayed by Oscar winner Helen Mirren and Kill Bill actress Lucy Liu. West Side Story star Rachel Zeigler has also been cast for an undisclosed key role.

Shazam! Fury of the Gods is once again being directed by David F. Sandberg (Annabelle: Creation) from a screenplay written by returning scribe Henry Gayden. It will be produced by Peter Safran.
The sequel is currently slated for a June 2, 2023 release.
