11 Bit Studios’ city-building survival title Frostpunk has been announced as the latest title in the Epic Games Store’s free game promotion.

The title was critically acclaimed when it dropped back in 2018 and sees players having to manage resources, heat, and steam-powered technology as they battle to ensure that the last city on a frozen earth survives.
The PC version includes the traditional Endless Mode for long-term play, as well as a fiendish Endurance setting which pushes the harshness of the conditions up to max. A much calmer Serenity mode is also available, which allows players to focus on the enjoyment of building the city without any major threats to consider. It’s totally zen, albeit a little bit on the chilly side.

PC players can grab Frostpunk for the princely sum of absolutely nothing from the Epic Games Store right now, with that offer remaining in place until June 10, when it’ll be replaced with something else.
