Lovecraft Country’s Jonathan Majors is reportedly in negotiations to star opposite Michael B. Jordan as Adonis Creed’s adversary in the ring for MGM’s Creed III, according to Deadline. If a deal is landed, Majors would be joining returning stars Jordan, Tessa Thompson, and Phylicia Rashad for the third installment. It was previously announced that Sylvester Stallone would not appear in the film as the Creed franchise will build the story around Adonis moving forward.
Majors’ recent credits also include Da 5 Bloods, Jungleland, Captive State, The Last Black Man in San Francisco, White Boy Rick, and When We Rise. He will next appear in Jeymes Samuel’s drama western The Harder They Fall and the war drama Devotion. Majors is also set to portray Kang The Conqueror in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania.
