An untitled thriller set during the pandemic penned by Scream writer Kevin Williamson has been greenlit by Miramax. Actor Gideon Adlon is set to star in the upcoming film.
According to Deadline, the untitled feature will be set during the pandemic as the country begins to lockdown. A college student named Parker (Adlon) and her best friend decide to quarantine at her family lake house. They went alone, but it seems they may encounter some unwanted visitors.

John Hyams is set to direct the Williamson and Katelyn Crabb written screenplay. The original story is written by Williamson. Along will Williamson, Miramax CEO Bill Block and Ben Fast will produce the pandemic thriller.
“Williamson and Crabb have written a story that intertwines the palpable fear we’ve all experienced over the past year and merged that with their ability to skillfully amplify our unconscious anxieties by utilizing the horror genre,” says Block. “With Hyams attached to direct, we know that this film is destined to become a fan favorite.”
Hyams is the co-creator and showrunner of the Netflix TV series Black Summer, which has a second season scheduled for a June release. He has also worked on projects such as Z Nation, Chicago P.D., Chicago Fire, and The Originals.

Gideon Adlon is probably most known for her role as Sam from the comedy film Blockers starring alongside John Cena. She has starred in the Blumhouse produced The Craft: Legacy, as well as voiced Violet in the video game The Walking Dead: The Final Season.
As mentioned above, Williamson is known for writing the iconic horror film Scream, as well as developed screenplays for I Know What You Did Last Summer, and The Faculty. He has also created and co-created popular television series such as Dawson’s Creek, The Following, and The Vampire Diaries. He is also an executive producer on the upcoming Scream reboot, which is scheduled for January 14, 2022.
