According to Deadline, Oscar nominee Owen Wilson has officially signed on to star in Paramount Pictures’ upcoming action feature titled Secret Headquarters, which hails from Project Power duo Henry Joost and Ariel Schulman. Wilson will next be seen in two high-profile projects this year, with the first one being Marvel Studios’ highly-anticipated Loki series, which is set to debut next month on June 9. While the second one is his latest collaboration with Wes Anderson, which is the long-delayed film The French Dispatch.

Secret Headquarters is being described as a high-concept family action movie, centering around a kid who discovers the secret headquarters of the world’s most powerful superhero hidden beneath his home and must defend it with his group of friends when villains attack.
The film will be directed by Henry Joost and Ariel Schulman, who are best known for directing 2016’s techno-thriller Nerve, and last year’s superhero pic Project Power. Joost and Schulman are co-writing the current draft of the script along with Josh Koenigsberg, based on the story from an original screenplay by Thor: Ragnarok‘s Christopher Yost. Producers are Bruckheimer Films’ Jerry Bruckheimer and Chad Oman.

Wilson is best known for his leading performances in films such as Behind Enemy Lines, Marley and Me, Midnight in Paris, Wedding Crashers, How Do You Know, I Spy, The Big Year, Night at the Museum films, The Grand Budapest Hotel, and The Royal Tenenbaums. The latter earned him an Oscar nomination for Best Original Screenplay. He will also next be seen in Universal Pictures’ romantic comedy pic Marry Me starring opposite Jennifer Lopez which is set to debut on February 11, 2022.
