This year’s Academy Awards ceremony had a very different look and presentation from past years. This resulted in a significant dip in viewership in key demographics and a lot of criticism online from displeased viewers. One actor that didn’t like the changes was action movie legend Arnold Schwarzenegger, who said he turned off the show after just watching the first third of the broadcast.

“I only watched one-third because it was so boring,” Schwarzenegger said on Jimmy Kimmel Live. “I basically just turned it off. I couldn’t watch it anymore because there was so much talent there on the stage, but it was so boring. How could they with all this talent make it so boring?”
When asked by Kimmel if Schwarzenegger had any ideas to spice up the show, the former bodybuilding star had an on-brand answer. “I think the next time maybe they should take it to Muscle Beach and have the Oscars on Muscle Beach,” Schwarzenegger joked.

Many other complaints aimed at this year’s Oscars was due to its ordering of awards. Rather than Best Picture going on last as is tradition, it came before Best Actress and Best Actor. The show ended on a flat note after Anthony Hopkins won Best Actor for his great performance in The Father but wasn’t there to give a speech.
