Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson lands a starring role in Lionsgate heist thriller Free Agents
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson has signed up to star in and executive produce the Lionsgate heist thriller Free Agents.
Written and directed by Deon Taylor (Fatale), the trade describes Free Agents as “a high-concept sports action heist thriller, tells of a group of professional football players who come together to steal from the team owners who are exploiting them.”
Jackson will play a veteran quarterback and leader of a dangerous crime ring who lures an up-and-coming player into his circle, an act that threatens the young man’s football aspirations, family and safety.

Joe Bockol came up with the story and will produce with partner Roxanne Avent Taylor via Hidden Empire Film Group, an indie banner that focuses on Black storytelling. Aaron Edmonds and Scott O’Brien are overseeing the project for Lionsgate.
This is the latest project Lionsgate has teamed up with Jackson to produce, the other being the Power franchise on Starz, which currently features Power Confidential, Power Book II: Ghost and the upcoming Power Book III: Raising Kanan.
“50 has been legendary in all ways. I have been extremely impressed by his amazing energy on screen and his ability to light up every scene he is in,” said Deon Taylor in a statement. “I truly believe this extremely complex role will truly allow the world to understand just how unbelievably talented 50 is as an artist.”

Curtis “50” Cent” Jackson is a well-known American rapper, actor, producer and entrepreneur, who starred in films such as Get Rich or Die Tryin’, Escape Plan, Spy and Den of Thieves. He also produced the TV series For Life, Power and Black Family Mafia.
