The human trafficking thriller Pulled From Darkness is based upon a true story
ComingSoon.net has an exclusive first look at the upcoming thriller Pulled From Darkness, which just wrapped up filming. Based on a true story in Ukraine, the film follows a woman who is sold into human trafficking after her husband’s gambling debt becomes an issue. Taken from her children and put into a horrifying situation, she begins a battle for her own life and freedom.
The official synopsis reads, “Inspired by the incredible true story of a woman who was abducted in the night, torn from her children, and sold into trafficking after her husband lost her in a night of gambling.”

Pulled From Darkness stars Jessica Koloian (Courageous Love) in the lead role as Anna. Stelio Savante (Running For Grace), Robia Scott (Unplanned), Robert Amaya (Mom’s Night Out), Sharonne Lanier (Son Of The South), Todd Terry, Brayden Eaton and Mark Lowry round out the key cast of the upcoming film.
The film is written and directed by George A. Johnson, who is a NATAS Lower Great Lakes Emmy Award winner. The film is executive produced by Lonnie and Connie Norris. While George and Karen Johnson have producer credits.
“She was abducted in the night, separated from her children, and sold into the trafficking industry for nearly three years,” Johnson said of the film’s inspiration to The Star. “Once she escaped, she had an encounter with God, gave her life to Him, and then witnessed an amazing series of miracles as she searched to see if her children were still alive.”
