HBO Max has released The Snyder Cut… to certain members of the press and other advance viewers. The rest of the world must wait unil Thursday, but the first social media reactions are flooding in. By most accounts so far, the four-hour DC superhero movie epic is worth the long sit. Let’s take a look at some of the Zack Snyder’s Justice League reactions.
ComingSoon.net’s own Max Evry and Jeff Ames got in on the action, praising the film in comparison to the theatrical cut.
Will add that those expecting #ZackSnydersJusticeLeague to be vastly different than theatrical will be disappointed. 75% of theatrical was Zack’s, albeit run through a blender. Most of what was added was to clarify/simplify, and most of what was deleted was good but not crucial. pic.twitter.com/i9kokbqcyR

Zack Snyder’s Justice League is a powerful, Lord of the Rings-sized epic that will leave audiences clamoring for more! A kick ass ride bristling with eye-popping FX, colorful characters and emotion. I loved every second of it. And I want more. #ZackSnydersJusticeLeague

Longtime superhero scooper Umberto Gonzales, of The Wrap and Heroic Hollywood, watched his screener more than once, for a total of over twelve hours.
#ZackSnydersJusticeLeague does indeed exist, I seen it THREE TIMES now, & IT IS FREAKIN’ AWESOME! I had an absolute blast watching each time & shocked at just how good it actually is and how well it plays! Action packed, it hits all the beats & that @Junkie_XL score is straight [fire] pic.twitter.com/UgFW1Le9kA

io9’s Germain Lussier calls it “bloated,” but he’s still a fan overall.
Zack Snyder’s Justice League: I enjoyed it thoroughly. It’s both very different, and eerily similar, to the original film with almost all of the changes and additions improving the characters and story. Better motivations. Bigger stakes. It’s bloated but superior & worth the wait pic.twitter.com/h7PRADzeJn

Comic Book Debate’s Sheraz Farooqi compares it to another cinematic epic, as high praise:
#ZackSnydersJusticeLeague is DC’s Lord of the Rings. Simple as that.
Epic and grand, JL is led by great performances, especially from Ray Fisher.
With an amazing score by Junkie XL and Snyder’s eye for directing, @SnyderCut is every DC fan’s dream movie come to life. #SnyderCut pic.twitter.com/DLerGt5WNS

Contrary to the stereotype, it’s not just a bunch of dudes who like it.
Enjoyed #TheSnyderCut immensely. It provides lots more clarity & cohesion to these beloved heroes and their struggle, rooting the action in intense stakes. Restoring the backstories does a world of good to everyone, but especially Ray Fisher. #JusticeLeagueSnyderCut pic.twitter.com/fbjyzvxAp6

Fandango’s Erik Davis thought it worth the wait.
I can now say that I have watched #ZackSnydersJusticeLeague and it is far superior to the original theatrical version. Rich character development, much better action, a coherent story & some terrific badass moments. Definitely a long watch, but I never felt tired of it. Well done pic.twitter.com/QXyQLdUApv

ComicBookMovie’s Josh Wilding liked it a lot.
So, I guess I’m allowed to share my reaction to #ZackSnydersJusticeLeague. Folks, this is the superhero movie event of the decade. It’s a completely different beast, and absolutely epic on every level. @ray8fisher steals the show as #Cyborg – SO good. #JusticeLeague #SnyderCut pic.twitter.com/zeIUoXJQec

Collider’s Steve Weintraub emphasizes that indeed, this is the superior cut.
#TheSnyderCut is loaded with scenes people haven’t seen & are going to love. It is such a better movie than the theatrical cut of #JusticeLeague. Night and day difference. Saying that have no idea how this version could have ever been released in theaters. Perfect for @hbomax. pic.twitter.com/Fnamv6GcKj

Forbes’ Scott Mendelson noted definite improvements but found it overlong.
#JusticeLeagueSnyderCut is an assembly cut w/ finished effects. Its the same core movie we saw in 2017 w/ two hours of deleted scenes & some slightly altered versions of existing beats. Two reasons to watch: The action climax is much better and Cyborg gets the deserved spotlight. pic.twitter.com/bUSmiJwccT

Sister site SuperHeroHype’s own Luke Y. Thompson chimed in as well…
Just got word the social media embargo on #ZackSnydersJusticeLeague is lifted. So let me say I am surprised by the degree to which it’s an arthouse kind of superhero movie. It’s not what haters or supporters fully expected; a slow-paced epic that lets you inhabit that space.

While early reviews tend to trend enthusiastic, the consensus so far is clear: the movie is big and epic. Even if the length is daunting, it’s a definite improvement. And that’s exactly what most people wanted from it. Our full-length review will run later in the week.
