Lionsgate announced today that they are developing the feature film comedy Epic Fail. Nicky Weinstock and Ed Helms co-developed the original idea for the feature, which has Helms attached to star.
In Epic Fail, an elite but highly unorthodox special forces team takes their dysfunction and excessive firepower on a desperate mission to save America, led by the only soldier more badass and more mustachioed than a Navy SEAL, The Walrus.
Helms, whose recent credits include The Hangover Part III and We’re the Millers, can be seen coming up in David Wain’s They Came Together, Rob Pearlstein’s Someone Marry Barry, Joe Carnahan’s Stretch and, as a voice, in the DreamWorks Animation project Captain Underpants.
Mike Arnold and Chris Poole (best known for their Black List script The Grackle) will provide the screenplay with Weinstock producing via his Invention Films banner along with Helms and Michael Falbo via their Pacific Electric Picture Company. Whitney Thomas of Invention Films will executive produce.
