According to Deadline, Scott Pilgrim vs. the World star Michael Cera has officially signed on along with actors and newly-engaged couple Maya Erskine (PEN15) and Michael Angarano (Sky High) for the leading roles in the upcoming road trip movie titled Sacramento. Production is expected to start early next year.

Sacramento centers around an energetic and free-spirited young man named Rickey, who convinces Glenn, his long-time friend who’s settled into domestic life, to go on an impromptu road trip from Los Angeles to Sacramento, bringing their past into question and their future into light.
On top of starring, the film will also be directed by Michael Angarano from a screenplay he co-wrote with Chris Smith. It will be produced by Angarano, Smith, Sam Grey along with Oakhurst Entertainment and Lighthouse Management & Media.

Cera is best known for his comedic roles in films such as Superbad, Juno, Nick and Norah’s Infinite Playlist, Year One, This Is the End, Scott Pilgrim vs. the World, Sausage Party and The Lego Batman Movie. He will next be featured in the animated adventure film Blazing Samurai which will also feature the voices of Samuel L. Jackson, Ricky Gervais and George Takei.
Angarano first gained recognition in Disney’s iconic superhero film Sky High. He also earned his first Emmy nomination for his guest-starring role in the fourth season of This Is Us. Meanwhile, Erskine is known for starring in Hulu’s hit comedy PEN15 which she also co-created and co-executive produced with Anna Konkle. For their work on the first season, the duo received an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Writing for a Comedy Series.
