Latino Review is reporting that Marvel Studios has taken a meeting with Johnny Depp to discuss him potentially starring as Stephen Strange in their long gestating Doctor Strange film. This remains a rumor for the time being, as Variety claims “such talks have yet to take place and any possibility of such a pairing is premature.” Check back here for further updates on the matter as we learn them.
A film based on Doctor Strange has been in development for some time, with Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige previously saying: “He checks the box off this criteria that I have: he’s totally different from anything else we have.” Marvel has already set release dates for three untitled films in 2016 and 2017, could one of them be Doctor Strange?
