According to Deadline, Academy Award winner Reese Witherspoon has officially signed on for the leading roles in Netflix’s two newest romantic comedy films: Your Place Or Mine and The Cactus. These projects will mark the first collaboration between Witherspoon and the streaming service with the acclaimed actress also serving as a producer on both films through her Hello Sunshine banner.
“We have been looking for the right feature opportunities to collaborate with Ted Sarandos, Scott Stuber and the entire team at Netflix for a while and we couldn’t be more excited to be working with them on these two romantic comedies,” Witherspoon said. “Both Sarah Haywood’s and Aline Brosh McKenna’s stories blend everything we love about traditional RomComs with strong, smart and determined female leads.
This project will also serve as Witherspoon’s comeback to the comedy genre as she is not only lauded for her works in drama films and shows but is also known for her works in iconic comedy films such as: Election, Legally Blonde, and Sweet Home Alabama.
