Deadline is reporting that multiple offers are coming in for Simon Kinberg’s (The Martian, The Twilight Zone, X-Men franchise) Here Comes the Flood, the Oscar-nominated filmmaker’s first original screenplay since Mr. and Mrs. Smith.

The project is described as an elevated, character-driven love story heist movie featuring big movie star roles. Kinberg and Audrey Chon, President of Genre Films, are both attached to produce.
Kinberg’s upcoming projects include the global spy thriller 355 for Universal, FilmNation, and Freckle Films. Written by Theresa Rebeck, the movie stars Jessica Chastain, Penélope Cruz, and Sebastian Stan and will release on January 15, 2021.

Additional upcoming projects include an untitled tentpole sci-fi series inspired by HG Wells’ The War of the Worlds for Apple, with Kinberg writing the first few episodes alongside David Weil (The Hunt), who are both serving as executive producers, as well as The New Mutants, Death on the Nile, Artemis, Luna Park, and more.
