Just one day after it was reported that the John Wick 4 release date was in flux, Lionsgate has officially confirmed a new release date for the Keanu Reeves-led fourquel! The film is now scheduled to open on May 27, 2022. The prime Memorial Day Weekend release date is almost exactly one year from its original release date of May 21, 2021. It is currently in direct competition with Warner Bros.’ fantasy tentpole Dungeons & Dragons, as well as an Untitled Disney Live-Action Film.

John Wick 4 director Chad Stahelski recently confirmed that Reeves was only four weeks into shooting The Matrix 4 when COVID-19 concerns forced a shutdown. Reeves will have to complete his commitment to the Lana Wachowski sequel before moving on to John Wick Chapter 4.
John Wick 4 was originally set to release on the same day as The Matrix 4 on May 21, 2021, in what has been dubbed by fans as Keanu Day. We can only hope that The Matrix 4 will also relocate to May 27, 2022!
