Caviar and Cold Iron Pictures announced today that they will finance and produce the dramatic coming-of-age feature The Diary of a Teenage Girl, starring Bel Powley, Golden Globe nominee Kristen Wiig (The Secret Life of Walter Mitty, Bridesmaids) and Alexander Skarsgard (Melancholia, “True Blood”). First time director, Marielle Heller will direct from her own screenplay.

The film will shoot in San Francisco.
Heller went through both the Sundance Institute Directors and Screenwriters Labs with The Diary of a Teenage Girl. Since founded in 1981, the Sundance Feature Film Program has supported an impressive list of award-winning and ground-breaking films, including most recently, the critically successful Fruitvale Station.
